Established in Hikari ga Oka, Kashiwa City, in 1935, Reitaku High School has a history of 68 years. Reitaku's educational philosophy is based on the principle of "chi-toku-ittai" (wisdom and virtue go hand in hand) which is based on "Moralogy" (the philosophy of ethics) advocated by Chikuro Hiroike, the founder of Reitaku school. Recognizing every stage of life as an educational opportunity, our goal is to develop a spirit of gratitude, self-reliance, and consideration. On the Reitaku campus, students grow as human beings, build a sound educational and moral foundation for their future, and develop the ability to proceed to university.
At its establishment, Reitaku High School was strictly a coeducational dormitory school. However, in 1992, the school began accepting day students, and at present, 85% of our students are day students. A junior high school was opened in 2002. All the junior high school students are day students.
Reitaku has one of the largest campuses in the Tokyo area. The campus is 460,000 square meters. The campus is full of trees, open park-like spaces, and small animals. We believe that it is one of the most beautiful campuses in the Tokyo area.
