The 2021 Kashiwa City Junior High School English Presentation was held at Amuse Kashiwa on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
Oishi and Takahashi, both in their third year of junior high school, participated in this event, having worked hard on their speeches from the beginning, and practiced with the guidance of the English department during the summer vacation. Ms. Oishi's presentation was titled "1.5", about how a 1.5 degree Celsius rise in temperature will cause serious environmental destruction, and Ms. Takahashi's was titled "Live for yourself", about learning from the life of Sakamoto Ryoma.
The presentations on the day were very impressive, and their English pronunciation and content were second to none. The comments from the judges that were sent to us later were also very complimentary of their efforts. As a result, Oishi was awarded the second place. This was the first English speech contest for Reitaku Junior High School, and both students set a good example for others to follow. I would like to thank Ms. Oishi and Ms. Takahashi for their hard work, their families for their support, and the English department teachers for their guidance.
